Top Questions – Ask Joe

1) Why should I use Joe's?

As Trained Lawn Care specialists we can help you get the most out of your lawn so you can enjoy using it more! Your treatment plan is specific to your individual lawn and we want to keep you involved every step of the way. We only use professional weed killers and fertilisers that cannot be bought in the shops. These are stronger and more effective, so we show better results than off the shelf products. Using Joe’s can also be CHEAPER than doing it yourself!

2) Is it really cheaper than doing it myself?

YES! The Lawn Treatments we use are not available for general use. They are professional treatments that need to be applied by qualified individuals with a license. Our products are also far more effective than DIY products available in garden centres that require endless applications.

3) How do I start?

Simply enter your details in the box on the right hand side of your screen and we will be in touch to arrange a convenient time to visit and carry out a FREE lawn analysis.

4) When does it all start?

We always adapt our services and treatment plan specifically for you and we can start at any time of the year.

5) What if I'm not in when you visit?

This is not a problem. As long as we have access to your lawns, we will simply carry out your treatments as normal. But it’s always nice to see you for a chinwag occasionally!

6) When will I see results?

Your lawn will start to look better in just 10 days with the correct weather conditions! We have a ‘treat what we see’ mentality so we can guarantee to ensure your lawn then stays looking healthy, green and weed free.

7) Is there a contract?

No, there is no contract and you may cancel at any time, but there are fees involved with direct debit and pre payment plans should you leave before the year is up, please see your T&C’s. We like to think that you will stay with us after witnessing a healthier, greener and weed free lawn for yourself!

8) Are Joe's Licensed?

The application of herbicides used by the Joe’s Lawn Care staff requires training and certification to the National Proficiency Training Council (NPTC) standards. All of our Lawn Experts hold PA1 & PA6 licenses and are kept up to date with the latest training necessary. We are also one of the few companies in the UK to achieve the ‘Lawn Assured Standard’ for the safe use of licensed products.

Treatment Questions – Ask Joe

1) Why do you recommend up to 5 visits a year?

We suggest these regular treatments to ensure the correct vital nutrients continually feed your lawn throughout the year and are applied at the best times. Each treatment is always specifically chosen for YOUR lawn in accordance with the conditions at the time.

2) When will you treat my lawns/surfaces?

We always let you know in advance. You will get a reminder email 2 weeks before a visit with a date. We then email to let you know a time slot 1 week before your treatment. We will always come on this date unless the weather conditions are not right or there is an unforeseen circumstance. We never treat your lawn if the conditions are not right to do so. Please do make a note of this date to ensure we have access to your lawns on that day. If the day or time is not convenient just let us know and we can offer an alternative.

3) Is it all safe for kids and pets?

Yes it is. All we ask is that you stay off all areas until the treatments have dried (usually less than 2 hours). We recommend that grazing pets such as rabbits and guinea pigs be kept off the lawn for the next 2-3 cuts to avoid ingestion of applied treatments. Your Joe’s Lawn Care Hero will always let you know exactly what products they’ve used on your lawn and what the benefits are.

4) What is scarification?

This is a mechanical procedure for the removal of decaying material on the soils surface; this in turn opens up channels for water, air and nutrients to get through to the soil. Vitally important for all aspiring lawns! Check out our scarification page for more info.

5) What is aeration?

This is an effective way to improve drainage and ensure oxygen supply to the turf roots. This procedure is also effective for the continued control of moss. Check out our aeration page for more info.

6) What is over seeding?

This is the process of sowing new lawn seed into an existing lawn to assist in lawn rejuvenation.

7) What is this thatch stuff?

Thatch is another name for debris made up of things like leaves and other organic matter that build up naturally. An excessive thatch layer can restrict the movement of air, water, fertiliser and other materials to the roots of the grass, all of which are necessary for healthy turf growth.
