Revive Your Garden With A Lawn Repair Company

The sunnier days are finally here! If you’re not loving the look of your lacklustre lawn then it’s time to find a lawn repair company. Especially those who can help get it ready for BBQ season.

We tend to forget about their gardens over the winter months when the prospect of spending time outside is about as appealing as a trip to the dentist. If you’re one of them, then, now things are warming up, it’s time to get it back up to scratch.

To start with, if your garden is not looking its best, then there are a few things you can do yourself to revive your lawn. Hold off before you call in the help of a lawn repair company.

We’ve got a few lawn care hacks that can really lend it a helping hand. From coffee grounds to keep the pests at bay, washing up liquid to tackle moss or vinegar to kill lawn weeds.

Mowing The Right Way

For a healthier lawn, one of the biggest favours you can do is to mow it correctly. Over the colder months, the mower may have been collecting dust in the back of the shed, hiding from the wilds of winter. So, when it comes time to start mowing your lawn once more, there are good and bad ways to go about it.

We have plenty of experience under our belts. We recommend that the most important thing you can do for your first mow is to set your mower blade height to the highest setting. Don’t forget to make sure that your mower blades are in good condition and sharp.

After that, mow little and often between Autumn and Spring. Take only a third of the grass height off with some freshly sharpened mower blades. Your lawn will be a thick and lush before you know it.

Cutting your lawn once a week should be fine. But whatever you do, don’t leave it to get long and then hack it all down like you’re planning the next Texas Chainsaw Massacre. It ain’t going to look pretty! Oh, and never mow wet grass – it can clump together and block up your collection inlets.

Getting your lawn mowing right means you’ll be on the way to having it ready for summer before you know it. Another tip in the meantime is to try and stay off the lawn as much as you can. Always remove any debris, such as leaves, thatch, garden toys, sun loungers, kitchen sink… the list goes on.

You want your lawn lapping up every teeny weeny little ray of sunshine and moisture over the coming months. It’s not going to get that by being trampled on. Plus, if the weather is getting on the Sahara Desert side, remember to give it a watering when it needs it, too.
