8 WAYS TO SHOW YOUR LAWN SOME LOVE AFTER HEAVY RAINS

Maybe it has something to do with the fact I am a foolishly optimistic, bucket-half-full kind of guy. But I always thought September was a surprisingly sunny month. Yet here I am, wearing a wool jumper beneath the brightest yellow raincoat science could create. A pair of polka dot welly boots that were left in my car at a time I can’t recall by a person I can’t picture. And a pair of mirrored sunglasses. Basically, I look like a wannabe happy hardcore raver at their first festival and all because I stubbornly refused to accept the well-known fact September is the first month of autumn.

Anyway, the point I am trying to make is: you can forget all about that glorious summer we were having because the rains are well and truly here. Super-heavy rains too. Why is this an issue in the world of lawn care? Well, that’s simple. Once grass has become waterlogged with rainwater. And it can’t survive much longer than four days. That’s not long. You can’t even watch every episode of F.R.I.E.N.D.S in that space of time.

That’s why you need to hang your favourite wax jacket by the back door, pop your walking boots next the the radiator and stuff some gloves inside because, with the rains here, you need to start taking extra caution. So that the aftermath of heavy rain doesn’t damage your lawn. Of course, this begs the question: what the heck can you do to keep your lawn looking super-duper lush after a heavy downfall?

So, to help you in your quest for answers, I’ve pulled together eight tricks and tips and popped them into a friendly infographic. Go me.
